CANGRANDS shall act as an independent, not-for-profit organization to carry out activities, which empower Kin caregiver families who raise grandchildren. CANGRANDS shall seek and involve citizens as it identifies and work to overcome the inequalities and injustices which exist within society for Kin caregivers families who are raising theirs or someone elses children. CANGRANDS shall advocate for equitable policies for Kin caregiver families. CANGRANDS shall operate in an accountable, professional manner with confidentiality for all involved.
Board of Directors
CANGRANDS Board of Directors shall consist of a President/Chair, Vice-President/Co-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and Co-treasurer. All positions will be elected annually at the Cangrands conference. Procurement of new nominees for Board positions shall begin one month before the annual meeting. Nomination forms shall be mailed to all members whose dues are up to date. One vote for each member paid up to date. Records of meetings and reports shall be available at the AGM by approved appointment. The Board may establish ad-hoc committees as determined necessary. Executive Committee will carry out CANGRAND business between meetings. Members in good standing may vote by proxy. (See Join Us to apply)
