FAS/E Support Network of BC
The FAS/E Support Network of British Columbia is to provide information, support and education for families, professionals and the broader community around prevention and intervention issues pertaining to alcohol related birth defects, including Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and other disabilities caused by drug use during pregnancy. They operate a 24-hour "warm line" which provides parents and the professional community with consultation, support and specific information. Details of their comprehensive training programs, various committees dealing with specialized educational programming, criminal justice issues and social issues. Extensive list of resources also.

Alcohol Related Birth Injury (FAS/FAE) Resource Site
This site offers information about Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Alcohol Related Birth Injury in a format designed for quick access to information and quick access to links of many related sites. Lists training courses and seminars, FAQ's, Quiz, includes a Health Care Centre, has an Educators Consortium, section on ARBI and the Law, Research Centre information, and Service Centre listing ARBI Service Providers.

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Assistance and Training
(FAS) is a term used to describe symptoms in a child which are a result of that child's mother drinking alcohol during her pregnancy. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome/Effects is a combination of physical and neurological birth defects caused by prenatal exposure to alcohol. Secondary disabilities of FAS are behavioural, medical, or social consequences of the FAS birth defects. This website is dedicated to developing efficient and effective community responses for children with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome/Effects (FAS) in partnership with professionals and parents throughout southern Ontario and beyond. FASAT(Ontario) provides assistance and support for families attempting to meet the needs of these children. Resources list support groups throughout Ontario.

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome - FAS and Fetal Alcohol Effects - FAE are caused by the expectant mother consuming alcohol during the term of her pregnancy. The child is permanently afflicted with a diminished ability to function mentally, physically, emotionally and socially. Website has an extensive list of related links. The Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse (CCSA) is an arms-length, national agency, established in 1988 by an Act of Parliament. Funded by Canada's Drug Strategy and through its own revenue-generating efforts, the Centre promotes informed debates on substance abuse issues, disseminates information on the nature, extent and consequences of substance abuse and supports and assists organizations involved in substance abuse treatment, prevention and educational programming.
