Financial Support
www.quintechildrensfoundation.org/ The Quinte Children's Foundation has programs available for children and families who are in need of some help funding a child or children who aren't able to access extracurricular programs and summer camps. They also provide bursaries for post-secondary education each Spring. The funding is provided through individual and corporate donations and gifts.
The Quinte Children's Foundation receives applications, many of them through the Hastings Children's Aid Society and other community partners, then reviews the applications and provides the funds where the applications meet their guidelines and until the funds have run out for that year.
This resource may be something you'd like to keep in mind when you are providing links on the website, but under the umbrella of Hastings Children's Aid Society since this is usually who the referrals come from. It sounds as though a number of the families you come in contact with are often in touch with Children's Aid Society, possibly Big Brothers, Big Sisters, or the Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Treatment and Access Centre (FASTEC) in Belleville. If so, any of the social workers or service providers from these organizations can ask for an application from the Quite Children's Foundation and submit it on the families' behalf.
Please do note, the Foundation doesn't take referrals from the families themselves. They must be from a community organization in order to be reviewed.
